Developers Revamp Arcade Classic, Explore Softer Side
An absolute arcade classic is getting yet another makeover -- Street Fighter IV.
Odd thing about the first new Street Fighter in nearly 10 years though is that developers said it's not terribly different from the
one you may have played at your local convenience store years ago.
"In a lot of ways this is about us connecting with the original Street
Fighter 2 that set the arcade scene on fire and fuels a lot of
people's youths and we're just able to bring that back in a new way
with new next gen graphics, all 3D models which is new for street
fighter and they've been really lovingly rendered," said Seth Killian, Capcom.
Street fighter IV will be available on the PC, for Xbox 360 and
for PS3 in mid-February for about $60.
The same developers are also getting set to release a much softer title, literally.
Flock is a puzzle-solving title that puts you in an alien saucer trying to flock cute little animals to the mother ship in order to save them from some impending disaster. What you will immediately notice about the game though is that the whole thing looks soft, like something you'd find in a newborn's nursery.
"It looks from first take really plushy and pleasing to the eye, all of
the vibrant colors and our weird take on what wheat looks like, golden carpet. And just the texture just looks very plushy overall, the animals especially the sheep of course are adorable and cute and when they're females they're pink with a little bow in their hair," said Jason Allen, Capcom.
Flock is expected out sometime in January and will be a download from the Playstation Network for the PS3, XBox 360 Live and for the PC.
At about $15, the game will also be a bit softer on your wallet.
