I watched the entire first season of FX's "Damages" when it aired in the summer of 2007. But I didn't really love the show. I found all the time jumping back and forth between past, present and future annoying and wasn't locked into several of the subplots that accompanied the main class action lawsuit that Glenn Close's Patty Hewes was waging against Ted Danson's Arthur Frobisher.

But I kept on watching because the performances were electric, especially Danson's as an evil multimillionaire who can't understand why everyone thinks he's evil.

Would I return for season two?

Once I heard that Danson, whose character was last seen on the receiving end of a seemingly fatal gun shot wound, would be back, so was I.

So the people on "Damages" can act, there's no do doubt about that. But will the plot hold up? There are some interesting angles at play here, even if the first few episodes do suffer from being a bit too twisty. Whether it will develop into an intriguing season-long story is anyone's guess. But until we find out, I suppose the top-notch cast will have to suffice.
